Pak targets posts in Poonch sector

After a lull of two days, the Pakistan army today targeted Indian forward posts in the Mankot sector in Poonch district along the Line of Control today.“The firing and shelling started at about 2.30 pm and continued till 3.45 pm. It was retaliated effectively and appropriately by the Indian Army” said a defence spokesman.Sources said Indian soldiers retaliated to the unprovoked firing and shelling strongly and forced the enemy guns to fall silent.On November 27, the Pakistan army had opened unprovoked firing and mortar shelling on Indian forward posts in the Sair and Makri areas in Nowshera sub-division of Rajouri district.On November 17, a heavy exchange was reported between the two armies for about two hours in the Digwar, Bandichechiyan and Jhalas areas in the Poonch sector.
