Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party expressed deep shock and condolences on the most inhuman act of brutal murder of a veteran, fearless and undaunted journalist who was brutally gunned down at the doorsteps of his office in the heart of Srinagar City. He also expressed shock on his two security personnels namely, Abdul Hamid & Mohd. Hameed who were also brutally gunned down by the terrorists. He expressed shock on the total failure of the security system as the killers of Sujaat Bukhari and his two PSOs could not be identified even detected by anybody. He described this brutal killing of this senior journalist and fearless writer as a brutal murder and unforgivable. He was editing ‘Rising Kashmir’ in Srinagar City for several years with strong will and courage.
NPP Supremo said that Sujaat Bukhari was one of his oldest friends in the world of journalism for years who did not compromise with any person or authority while writing as a Correspondent (Hindu) or while editing ‘Rising Kashmir’ which was his own creation. He recollected the last meeting he had with Sujaat Bukhari last month in India International Centre (New Delhi) at breakfast table, when Mr. Bukhari told him (Bhim Singh) that his mind and pen shall neither surrender nor compromise with any power that be, shall continue expressing his views which he believed shall promote peace process, progress and strengthen brotherhood in J&K. He said that he had been in cordial relationship with Mr. Bukhari and supported all those writers, authors and thinkers who were committed to peace and progress in J&K like Mr. Sujaat Bukhari.
NPP held an emergency meeting of the senior activists of J&K National Panthers Party in New Delhi, conveyed condolences to the family members of Sujaat Bukhari praying for rest for the departed soul in the heavens.
