Those who boycotted polls are inimical to peace: Yudhvir Sethi
Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary & Incharge Ladakh region Yudhvir Sethi today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special place in his heart for people of this region and it is towards this and that he had ensured holding of elections to panchayats and local bodies in Jammu and Kashmir. These polls will not only empower the people of Ladakh but also give them equal opportunities in developmental activities.
Addressing series of meetings in Leh and Kargil, Yudhvir Sethi said that by holding elections to Panchayats and local bodies, the Prime Minister has given his mind that he wants each and every person at grass root level to be empowered by decentralizing powers. It was from the ramparts of Red Fort on August 15 this year that Prime Minister resolved to hold elections to local bodies in Jammu and Kashmir state. This he believed was only way to make people partners in development, Yudhvir Sethi said. He asked people to vote BJP to power and make their own Municipal Committees which will develop small and major towns effectively.
Yudhvir Sethi said these elections are going to be turning point in the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir state. There was no reason to deny people their right to vote and hold elections to local bodies that decentralize powers. The political outfits which have boycotted polls are enemies of peace and don’t want to see common people getting empowered, he said.
Yudhvir Sethi sought people’s co-operation in voting in favour of BJP candidates and said that the party is committed to give country, states, cities and villages good governance that’s transparent and sensitive to people’s issues. Referring to various central government schemes launched during last 4 years he said Prime Minister’s main aim is to take development to the highest point in the country.
MLC Tsering Dorjay, asserted that in order to give best connectivity to Ladakh region and make its road an all weather link, Prime Minister has also given a go ahead to the construction of Zojila tunnel which after completion will prove to be the lifeline of this region besides and a number of schemes are being implemented in Ladakh region for the welfare of its people.
Tsering Dorjay appealed to the voters of Leh and Kargil to ensure BJP’s victory with thumping majority so that those political outfits which have betrayed people by not participating in the polls are given a befitting reply. He said their denial is indication that they are inimical to peace and democracy.
