A 45 year old man was critically injured in a bear attack in the Sindra Village in Doda at about 7 Am on Tuesday morning.
A 45 years old man Shib Ram s/o Faqir Chand village of Sindra, Doda was crtically injured when a bear attacked him at near in the forest area.
Locals reached the spot and injured was shifted To District Hospital Doda, for treatment. Later injured shifted to GMC Jammu for special treatment.
Panic has gripped different areas of Doda district after increasing number of attacks by wildlife animals with Wildlife department watching like mute spectators. A large number of wild animals have strayed into residential areas triggering widespread fear among the residents of rural areas of Doda district, said Rakesh Kumar.
Wildlife department is not taking threats seriously and are taking people for a ride, thus putting the lives of the villagers and live stock at stake, said locals.
Locals residents residing in upper reaches of Chenab Region said that large number of bears and leopards stray from the adjoining forest range into the villages for search of food. Local demanded establishment of wild life department control room in Doda.
