Chairman Shri Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj (SDNS), Dewan Mandir & State BJP General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi today expressed his satisfaction over the preparedness of annual and historic Ramlila which is going to begin here tomorrow. President (SDNS) Anil Massom and Sat Paul Sharma (Gen Secretary S.D.N.S) were also present.
Appreciating hard work done by artists, Yudhvir Sethi asked people to witness this historic Ramlila in large numbers. He added that during past sometime beautification of entire Dewan Mandir complex has been carried out to prepare ground for holding annual Ramleela in a big way.
Speaking on the occasion, he informed that the 153 years old Ram Leela that is performed during holy Navratras in the premises of Shri Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj (SDNS), Dewan Mandir, Jammu is worth a watch and people must bring in their children to make them aware of their intangible heritage and culture.
Last time for the first time this Ramlila was performed in Katra to add to the festivity. The artists, many of whom had performed for the past over 40 years had also displayed their talent at Katra for bigger audiences.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Ramleela of Dewan Mandir is quite historic and its artists have perfected the art. He said it very year more and more facilities are added to separate rooms for artists makeup, meeting halls, office and main auditorium for the comfort of performers as well as audiences. He informed that work on main auditorium is full swing and will be completed soon.
The costumes, scripts, sets, special effects, Bhajans and other special effects of this very Ramleela is appreciated widely. Chairman, SDNS, Yudhvir Sethi, extended invitation to all irrespective of caste, creed and religion to become a part of the religious event and witness world famous Ramleela beginning tomorrow.
Sethi said that one of the distinguished features of Ramleela is that the characters are played not only by Hindus but Muslims too have been part of the Natak Samaj for decades. He also disclosed that special prayers will be performed before commencement of Ramleela.
