Pattan: Fire & Emergency Services department is completely failed to provide another fire tender to one of the overloaded & Important Fire Station of North Kashmir from last 40 Years & amid increase in fire incidents in the areas, administration not in bothered to full fill the long pending demand of people.
Locals of the area told that one Fire Tender & seven employees were provided to fire Station Pattan in 1980, after that we have made several requests to State administration Particularly Director General Fire & Emergency Department for another Vehicle but the administration is in a deep slumber & did not bothered about the hundreds of villages of geographically difficult area with a population in lacs of people. The local Youth Development Committee blames the government of “callous” approach.
Ghulam Nabi a local Youth told Ocean times that from last fourty years there is only one fire tender & seven employees Including a Driver & a female employee at Fire Station Pattan for hundreds of villages from Narbal to Rengee Including the areas from Goshbugh to Diver Parihaspora, Ussan,Palhallan, Gund Khawaja Qasim, Zangam,Sherpora ,Nihalpora,Cheksari and wailo etc which is not sufficient for such a huge population. It is almost half of the district Baramulla. We have several times made requests to Director General Fire & Emergency Service time and again for more fire tenders but every time our requests fell on deaf ears,” we are failed to understand how they can cover Such a huge area locals told.
